From July 6 to 9, Saribekyan International Medical University (SIMU) hosted Nino Chichiveishvili, an international expert in the field of education.
The visit combined two key missions: an audit of the academic program and faculty training.
Within the scope of the mission entrusted to the expert by the university, on-site collection of objective evidence and a comprehensive evaluation of the "General Medicine" academic program were carried out, aimed at the continuous improvement of the university's educational quality.
At the initiative and request of the university, the expert conducted an intensive, two-day training course titled "Modern Teaching and Evaluation Methods in Medical Education: From Theory to Practice," which was dedicated to competency-based and student-centered approaches.
A total of 57 specialists were involved in the training course. Notably, in addition to the faculty of SIMU, 10 leading lecturers invited from other medical institutions also joined the program.
The participants studied modern medical education tools and their applications in detail, such as Case-Based Learning (CBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Bedside Teaching, as well as modern clinical skills assessment methods: OSCE, OSPE, DOPS, and Portfolio.
The training was held at a high level and in a constructive atmosphere. All participants engaged in active practical and teamwork, completed assignments, and were successfully evaluated by the expert.
At the official closing of the course, the participants were awarded certificates corresponding to international standards.
A survey conducted among the participants confirmed the high effectiveness and full satisfaction with the program, providing an excellent foundation for future cooperation and new initiatives.
We express our gratitude to Nino Chichiveishvili for her high professionalism and to all participants for their active and productive engagement.
