Chess Tournament, University of Traditional Medicine

On October 31 and November 1, in the University of Traditional Medicine was held a Chess Tournament. A series of Armenian and foreign students from the University participated in the tournament sponsored by the UTMA Student Council and supported by Avan Chess School in Yerevan.

Dean Anahit Karapetyan welcomed the participants and mentioned that traditionally sporting games greatly inspire the students, providing a high level of mood.

According to the Dean, the organization of the chess championship aims to bring together students, make them more meaningful, develop students logic, and, finally, it is the best opportunity to discover talented students.

The game took place in an interesting and tense struggle. 
The best chess players of the University were recognized in the hard struggle,

• 1st place – Mostafa Imad Saad Allah Al-Khalidi, 1st year, Dentistry Department
• 2nd place Mohammed Yaseen Mahmood Mahmood, 3-rd ear, General Medicine Department
• 3-rd place Hayk Kulijanyan, 1st year Master Degree Dentistry Department

In the chess tournament, FIDE Master of Sports David Hunanyan, a member of the Yerevan Chess Federation Presidency, awarded the cups, medals and certificates to the students, who are the top 3 chess players.

Dean of the University Anahit Karapetyan congratulated the winners, wished them new successes and victories in the forthcoming inter-university tournaments.
The tournament was held in accordance with the international standards. Competitors were selected by a computer program (www.chess-results.com), which could follow students' parents and relatives from different corners of the globe.
