UTMA student has participated in the XX International Congress of Medical Sciences (ICMS) for Students and Young Doctors held at the Medical University of Sofia

Ms. Afrodin Kamil, VI year student of the "General Medicine" faculty in the University of Traditional Medicine, participated in the XX International Congress of Medical Sciences (ICMS) for Students and Young Doctors, which took place on 12-15th of May, at the Medical University of Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria.

She represented a research project in the field of angiology, which was carried out under the supervision of the professors and lecturers of the University of Traditional Medicine of Armenia: Dr. R.Manvelyan, Dr. A.Minasyan and Dr. H.Stepanyan.

The study (along with abstract publication), titled “Hybrid revascularization in cases of longer arterial occlusive diseases of lower limbs in combination with diabetes mellitus”, aimed at evaluation of the results of balloon dilatation of superficial, popliteal and anterior parts of below-the-knee arteries without stenting.

ICMS – International Congress of Medical Sciences is an international event that welcomes more than 500 participants every year. The congress gives the opportunity to students and young doctors from all over the world to present their research work in a set of Preclinical sciences, Internal medicine, Surgery and Public Health poster and oral sessions. The organizer of the forum was the Association of Medical Students in Bulgaria – Sofia (AMSB-Sofia). 3 major workshops and lectures were organized, along with presentations of research projects by students and young doctors.

We are glad to mention that the students of the UTMA are actively participating in international conferences, trainings and other scientific initiatives. Being involved in the field of medical research is a crucial step for building a career of a highly proficient medical specialist in the future.
